Bandhni literally means "tying" and that's exactly what these patient craftspeople do to achieve a tremendous variety of colorations and patterning on cloth. Tiny knots are made on the cloth creating a resist for the dye. The cloth is folded before tying. In Leheriya, the cloth is rolled
on the diagonal and then tied off. Sequence dying creates beautiful
color effects.
